Certified Ukrainian diploma translation for WES, ECE and recognition abroad

Translation of educational documents in both directions — foreign diplomas for recognition in Ukraine, and Ukrainian diplomas for universities and evaluation services abroad.

Foreign diplomas for use in Ukraine

To study or have your qualification recognised in Ukraine, your diploma and its transcript have to be translated into Ukrainian and notarized. Most countries also require an apostille from the issuing country — arranged before you arrive.

The transcript is the important part. Recognition bodies compare subjects and hours against Ukrainian programmes, so the full table is translated — every subject, every credit, every grade.

Ukrainian diplomas for use abroad

WES and other evaluators

Word-for-word translation with the layout preserved: a table stays a table. The translation cannot be done by the applicant or a family member.

Universities and employers

Diplomas, transcripts, academic references and certificates of qualification, with notarization where required.

Poland

Educational documents need an apostille even though a legal assistance treaty exists — and Polish institutions usually expect a sworn translation.

Apostille from the Ministry of Education

Ukrainian diplomas and school certificates are apostilled by the Ministry of Education. Details and prices

A diploma and its transcript are two separate documents. Translation and apostille are charged for each. A transcript typically runs to 10–15 pages with 40–60 subjects — send a photo and we will price it exactly rather than guess.
Apostille first, then translation. The stamp itself has to be translated, so doing it the other way round means paying twice.

Requirements in the US and Canada

USA: WES, ECE and universities

Evaluators ask for a complete, word-for-word English translation by a professional translator. For the US we provide the translation notarized in Ukraine.

WES Canada (ECA for IRCC)

An English or French translation by a professional translator, word for word. Translations made by the applicant are not accepted.

IQAS (Alberta)

A qualified professional translator who does not need to be certified in Canada. The translation does not need to be certified or notarized.

ICES (British Columbia)

Prefers a Canadian certified translator. Applicants abroad may submit a translation by an official translator in their home country, provided it is completely accurate.

IRCC

A translation stamped by a certified translator, or a translation accompanied by the translator’s affidavit sworn before a notary public. We provide the affidavit format.

Some Canadian organisations accept only a translator certified by a Canadian provincial association (ATIO, OTTIAQ, STIBC and others) — for example certain professional regulators or settlement programmes. We are not Canadian-certified translators, so before ordering send us the name of the organisation or its written requirements, and we will tell you honestly whether our translation fits.

WES and credential evaluation: frequently asked questions

What translation does WES require for a Ukrainian diploma?

A precise, word-for-word English translation made by a professional translator, with the words in the same order as on the original document. WES does not accept translations made by the applicant, and it does not translate documents itself.

Who sends the translation to WES?

You do. Translations are uploaded in your WES account as PDF or JPEG files and, unlike many official documents, do not need to arrive in a sealed envelope. Check the required documents list in your WES account for your exact case.

Do the diploma and the transcript need separate translations?

Yes. They are two separate documents, and both are translated in full: every subject, credit and grade, plus seals, stamps and notes on the back. An English version issued by the university does not replace a translation.

What about ECE and other evaluation services?

Most evaluation services, including ECE, also ask for a complete, literal English translation by a professional translator. Requirements differ in the details, so tell us which service you are applying to and we will prepare the translation to match its document list.

Can I order without coming to Ukraine?

Yes. For an evaluation translation a clear scan or photo of your official documents is enough. Send it by email, WhatsApp or Telegram and we will tell you the price and turnaround.

Will IRCC accept your translation?

Yes, in the affidavit format: the translator swears before a notary public that the translation is accurate, and the affidavit refers to both the translation and the original document. IRCC accepts this when a translation is not stamped by a certified translator.

Do you provide certified translations?

We provide a professional, word-for-word translation with the translator’s statement of accuracy, notarized in Ukraine. We are not members of a Canadian provincial translators’ association, so if an organisation requires a Canadian certified translator, check with it before ordering.
