When you need it

Documents abroad

Residence permit, citizenship, family reunification, registering a child or a marriage in another country.

Study and work

Admission, scholarships, employment — institutions often ask for the birth certificate together with other documents.

A foreign certificate in Ukraine

We translate certificates issued abroad into Ukrainian for civil registry offices, notaries, schools and state bodies. Without an apostille, a Ukrainian notary will not accept it.

Apostille first, then translation

If your country requires an apostille, it is placed on the original certificate — and only then is the certificate translated, together with the apostille. Translate it earlier and you will have to translate it twice. Apostilles on civil registry certificates are issued by the Ministry of Justice: 1,200 UAH including the state fee, about two weeks. Ukraine has legal assistance treaties with a number of countries, and there the certificate is accepted with a translation only, no apostille. Check your country →

What to check before ordering

The certificate is laminated

It cannot be apostilled. The solution is a duplicate certificate: the same document on a new blank form.

The certificate is lost

We obtain a duplicate from any civil registry office in Ukraine — no travel needed. 7,200 UAH with apostille, 6,000 UAH without.

Old Soviet-style certificate

We translate it the same way. Whether it can be apostilled, we check before submission.

Parents’ names matter too. The child’s name follows the international passport. If the parents have international passports, send them as well: the names in the translation should match those already used in your documents abroad.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a birth certificate translation cost?

1,000 UAH with notarization for the main languages. Less common languages 1,100 UAH, Swedish and Greek 1,200 UAH. A Ministry of Justice apostille, if needed, is 1,200 UAH extra.

How long does it take?

Translation with notarization — one business day. With an apostille — about two weeks.

Which comes first, the apostille or the translation?

The apostille goes on the original first, then the certificate is translated together with the apostille. Otherwise you pay for the translation twice.

Can I order without coming to Zhytomyr?

Yes. A photo is enough for a quote, and the original for notarization and the apostille goes by Nova Poshta. We send the finished documents back the same way, within Ukraine or abroad.

My certificate is laminated. What can I do?

It cannot be apostilled, and removing the film yourself usually damages the form. You need a duplicate certificate — we obtain it for you, and you do not need to travel to Ukraine.

We work across Ukraine and abroad

You do not need to come to Zhytomyr. Send a photo or scan by WhatsApp, Telegram or email, and we will tell you exactly what is needed and how long it will take. Finished documents go by Nova Poshta to any address in Ukraine or abroad.

The exception is any service that needs the original document or your personal presence. We tell you this up front, before you pay. How we work remotely →
