Ievgen Godovskyi

Ievgen is the founder of Global Lingo Group translation centre. He has worked in translation since 2001 and personally works with English, German, Polish, Czech and Italian.

Education

  • Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University — Bachelor’s (2008) and Specialist (2009) degrees in Translation, qualified as a translator of English and German.
  • Cooperative College of Business and Law — Bachelor of Law (2004).
  • Zhytomyr Polytechnic — Master’s in Economics (2023).

Ievgen had his own translator’s diploma apostilled by the Ministry of Education. He has gone through the same procedure we handle for you with his own documents.

How we work

“Before a document goes to the notary or for an apostille, I check that it will be accepted where you are submitting it: names as in the passport, stamps, lamination, the registry record. Better to find a problem now than after you have submitted abroad.” — Ievgen Godovskyi

What we check before you file

Names

Spelled as in your international passport. A one-letter mismatch is the most common reason documents are sent back.

Fit for an apostille

An apostille goes only on an original with no corrections or additions. A laminated certificate will not be accepted abroad — what to do with a laminated document.

The country’s rules

Whether an apostille is needed and which translation the office accepts — notarized, by a sworn translator, or certified by the translator.

Seals and reverse sides

We translate everything on the document: seals, stamps, signatures and notes on the back.

Who is responsible for what

The translator is responsible for the accuracy of the translation; the notary is responsible for the notarial act — the notary certifies the translator’s signature, not the content of the document. That is why we check accuracy ourselves, before the document goes to the notary.

What we do not translate. Forged or otherwise unlawful documents, and texts that violate a person’s honour and dignity.

Questions

Which languages does Ievgen work with personally?

English, German, Polish, Czech and Italian.

Who is responsible for the accuracy of the translation?

The translator. A notary certifies the translator’s signature, not the wording, so we check every translation before it is notarized: names, dates, numbers and seals.
