When you need a passport translation

A foreign national in Ukraine

Marriage registration, residence permit, notarial acts. Ukrainian authorities accept a foreign passport only with a Ukrainian translation certified by a notary.

A Ukrainian abroad

A foreign authority asks for a translation of your internal passport or ID card — for residence, study, work or notarial acts.

Part of a document set

A passport translation often goes with certificates or a diploma. We translate the whole set with one spelling of your name.

What we translate

  • ID card — both sides.
  • Booklet passport — the data pages and every page with stamps: registered address, marriage, children.
  • Foreign passport — the data page and, if needed, the visa or entry stamps that prove lawful stay.
Spelling of your name. For a Ukrainian passport, the name in the translation must match your international passport letter for letter — send a photo of it with the document. For a foreign passport, we keep one transliteration across all translations and follow any spelling already used in your Ukrainian documents.
Apostille on a passport. A passport itself is not apostilled. A Ukrainian passport can be apostilled through a notarized copy of all its pages: the Ministry of Justice apostille goes on the copy, and we then translate it together with the apostille. Foreign documents can only be apostilled in the country that issued them.

How it works

1Send a photo of the passport — we confirm the price and turnaround
2We translate — usually within one business day
3A Ukrainian notary certifies the translator’s signature
4Collect at our office or receive by Nova Poshta

A photo is enough for a quote. Notarization needs the original: bring it to our office or send it by Nova Poshta — we return it the same way.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a passport translation cost?

Translation from 500 UAH plus 500 UAH for notarization, usually about 1,000 UAH in total. Less common languages are 600 UAH for the translation, Swedish and Greek 700 UAH.

How long does it take?

Usually one business day. Urgent same-day translation is charged at double rate.

Can a passport be apostilled?

A Ukrainian passport can, through a notarized copy of all its pages: the Ministry of Justice apostille goes on the copy, which is then translated together with the apostille. A foreign passport can only be apostilled in the country that issued it.

How will my name be spelled?

Exactly as in your international passport. For a foreign national, the same spelling is used in every document of the set, following any Ukrainian documents you already have.

Can I order without coming to Zhytomyr?

Yes. Send photos by Telegram, WhatsApp or email, and the original for notarization by Nova Poshta. We send the finished translation back the same way, within Ukraine or abroad.
