Ministry of Internal Affairs

Ukrainian police clearance certificate — without travelling to Ukraine

We obtain the certificate of no criminal record issued by the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, apostille it if your country requires that, and translate it. You do not need to be in Ukraine.

In short. We work remotely — you do not have to come to Ukraine. The finished document is sent by courier to your address abroad.

Who needs a Ukrainian police certificate

You lived in Ukraine and moved on

Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK ask for a police certificate from every country where you spent six months or more. Former students and contract workers usually discover this long after leaving — and cannot come back for a piece of paper.

Ukrainians applying abroad

Employers, licensing bodies and migration services ask for a recent certificate, in most cases with an apostille.

Residence and citizenship

Migration services request it in almost every application.

Study, adoption, guardianship

Some universities ask for it at enrolment; for adoption and guardianship it is compulsory.

What we cannot do. We only obtain Ukrainian certificates. If you are a foreign national in Ukraine and an institution here is asking for a certificate from your country of citizenship, that document can only be issued by the authorities of that country — usually through its embassy or an online service at home. Once you have it, we can translate it into Ukrainian and certify the translation with a notary, which is what Ukrainian institutions will ask for next.

What we need from you

1A scan or photo of your passport, and of your Ukrainian tax number if you had one
2Place and date of birth
3The country you are submitting to — this decides whether an apostille is needed
4The address the finished document should be sent to

We prepare everything required to apply on your behalf.

Timing and cost

Stage Cost
Obtaining the certificate 1,600 UAH
Apostille 600 UAH
Both together 2,200 UAH
Translation with notarial certification from 1,000 UAH

The certificate itself takes about two weeks. With an apostille and translation, three to three and a half weeks. Courier delivery abroad is charged separately at the carrier rate.

Questions we get most often

How long is the certificate valid?

One month inside Ukraine. In European countries usually six months. In Canada, one year. The exact period depends on the institution you are submitting to, so it is worth ordering the certificate close to the date you actually need it. More on planning: how long a Ukrainian police certificate is valid.

Do I need an apostille?

For most countries, yes. The apostille on this certificate is issued by the Ministry of Justice. Check your country here — for countries outside the Hague Convention an apostille will not be accepted and the document goes through consular legalisation instead.

Which comes first, the apostille or the translation?

The apostille goes on the original, and the translation is made afterwards so that the apostille stamp is translated too. Doing it the other way round means paying for the translation twice.

Already have the certificate? We translate it with notarization in one business day, together with the apostille. Police clearance certificate translation →
